In one sentence Responsible for designs, develops, modifies, debugs and/or maintains software systems, Serves as an expert on specific modules, applications or technologies, and deals with complex assignments during the software development life cycle. What will your job look like? You will take ownership and accountability of specific modules within an application and provides technical support and guidance during solution design for new requirements, problem resolution for critical / complex issues You will Ensures code is maintainable, scalable and supportable. You will present demos of the software products to stakeholders and internal/external customers, using knowledge of the product/solution and technologies to influence the direction and evolution of the product/solution. You will investigate issues by reviewing/debugging code and providing fixes (analyzes and fixes bugs) and workarounds, will review changes for operability to maintain existing software solutions, will highlight risks and will help mitigate risks from technical aspects. You will bring continuous improvements/efficiencies to the software or business processes by utilizing software engineering tools and various innovative techniques, and reusing existing solutions. By means of automation, reduces design complexity, reduces time to response, and simplifies the client/end-user experience. You will represent/lead discussions related to product/application/modules/team (for example, leads technical design reviews). Builds relationships with internal customers/stakeholders All you need is The Software Engineering Specialist works as a member of a team responsible for the providing technical support on Amdocs BSS products to customer installed base. Support tasks to be performed include: Provide excellent customer service and technical support for Kenan application and interfaces. Ready to provide remote/on-site support to customers or internal teams wherever applicable Analyze and troubleshoot malfunctions service requests, provide related technical solutions and corrective actions along with root cause analysis according with corresponding Service Level Agreements (SLA) to both Amdocs customers and internal teams. Answers and qualifies incoming help line service requests in professional manner within a designated timeframe. Recommend solutions to customer based on product functionality. Understand priorities and severity and work accordingly. Independent issue handling under pressure situation. On time SR update on portal and share timely updates with customer/internal teams Provide reliable data/reports required for management decision Provide proactive support for efficient operation and to avoid recurrence Able to work in Matrix dealing with multiple groups like delivery/domain/R&D teams Must be ready to handle to participate in 24/7 on call shifts, night activities and emergency onsite support if needed. Job Requirements The Software Engineering Specialist is responsible for troubleshooting and root cause analysis of problems occurs on Kenan applications and interfaces according with related SLAs. Possess the technical knowledge and expertise to provide support for the different modules that includes among others Billing, Rating, Ordering and Promotions. Education BE / B. Tech / MCA or similar technical discipline with 5 years equivalent combination and relevant experience. Advance degree preferred. Professional Experience: Relevant Experience in real time billing system (C-One, Kenan experience preferable) and aware of in-depth architecture Experience supporting billing operation and handling customer support issues in a Telco/BSS environment. Should have in depth knowledge of Billing, Charging, Payments, Journals, Collections, Orders, RH&T, Promotions Experience in Oracle database and performance tuning. Additional Preferred Qualifications: C++. Shell / Perl scripting knowledge. Desirable Skills on AIX Unix, Linux. Personal Attributes Excellent troubleshooting/debugging skills for Software problems Detail oriented, good analytical and problem solving skills Willingness to take Ownership of Problems/Issues until its final resolution. Team player and can do attitude. Ability to work in matrix organizations and cross-cultural environments. Good verbal and written English communication and customer facing skills.
